Ingredients

  • 1 8 oz. package of Cream Cheese
  • 1/4 cup Sour Cream
  • 1 cup Shredded Cheese of your choice
  • 1/4 teaspoon Onion Powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • Pepper (to taste)
  • Pretzel Sticks

Instructions

  1. Add cream cheese and sour cream in a mixing bowl and beat until smooth.
  2. Add in grated cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, and pepper. Stir together until completely mixed.
  3. Take a spoonful of the cheese filling and roll it into a ball. Place on a cookie sheet or platter.
  4. Put the cheese bites in the refrigerator and chill for at least 60 minutes.
  5. Finely chop your toppings. We used Chives, Dried Cranberries, and Everything Bagel seasoning mixed with Sesame Seeds.
  6. Take the cheese bites out of the refrigerator. Place the cheese ball into the topping. Use a spoon or your fingers to press the toppings onto the cheese ball.
  7. Place back on the platter and store in the refrigerator until it is time to serve.
  8. Serve with Pretzel Sticks.

Notes

Other Topping Ideas
Bacon bits, nuts, sesame seeds, other dried fruits, or crushed crackers.

Can you freeze the cheese balls?
Yes. You should freeze them before you put the toppings on them. If you store them in an airtight container they should be good for up to a month.  Defrost in the refrigerator and then add the toppings before serving.
How long will they last in the refrigerator?
That depends on your ingredients.  The cheese ball will last for as long as your ingredients are good.
Can you save leftovers?
Yes. Unless the cheese balls sat out for a long time at room temperature.
