Angel Food Cake and Strawberries are forever linked in our minds. Our mom always made Strawberry Shortcake with Angel Food Cake. Always! It wasn’t until I was an adult that I realized it that was only one of many ways to make that yummy dessert. So it was a no-brainer to top our new favorite cupcake, Angel Food, with our super delicious The Best Strawberry Buttercream Frosting. These Angel Food Cupcakes with Strawberry Frosting are a quick and easy Summer dessert that will wow the crowds at any barbecue or family gathering. Yummy, easy and delicious – it is a Two Sisters dessert trifecta!
We started with a box of Angel Food Cake mix. We like the Betty Crocker Angel Food Cake Mix.
Make the Angel Food Cake batter according to the directions on the box.
Fill the cupcake liners 3/4 of the way. We were able to make 28 cupcakes. Bake the Angel Food Cupcakes in a 350 degree oven for 20-22 minutes or until the tops of the cupcakes are golden brown and cracked.
While the cupcakes cool, made up a batch of our oh so delicious, The Best Strawberry Buttercream Frosting. You can find the recipe and all the detailed instructions you need to make this yummy Strawberry Frosting right here.
Using a Wilton 2D Decorating tip, swirl on the Strawberry Frosting. We didn’t have the frosting swirl go all the way out to the edge of the cupcake liner so that everyone would know this was an Angel Food Cupcake.
These Angel Food Cupcakes with Strawberry Frosting are perfect for summer … a light and airy cupcake topped with sweet, creamy and yummy Strawberry Buttercream frosting.
