Rice Krispie Treat Flower Pops
Our Rice Krispie Flower Pops are a fun and delicious version of the classic Rice Krispie Treat – colorful, tasty and so easy to make.
Our Rice Krispie Treat Flower Pops ended up being a fun dessert that the kids could make for their mom for Mother’s Day. With some colored Rice Krispie treats, a cookie cutter, and some sticks, you can turn a traditional dessert into a different kind of Flowers for Mom.
How to Make the Rice Krispie Treat Mixture
Step 1: The base for our Rice Krispie Flower Pops is our Best Ever Rice Krispie Treat Recipe which we have adjusted and perfected over the years until it is now absolutely the best Rice Krispie Treat recipe we have ever tasted. You can all the directions you’ll need to make these delicious treats right here. You need to make two batches of Rice Krispie Treat mixture in two different colors.
Steps 2-3: For each batch of Rice Krispie Treat mixture I used 3 tablespoons of Butter, 3 Cups of Mini Marshmallows, and 3 Heaping Cups of Rice Krispie Cereal. For detailed instructions on how to make the Rice Krispie Treat mixture, check out our Best Ever Rice Krispie Treat Recipe. I added the food coloring to the melted marshmallow mixture BEFORE adding the Rice Krispie Cereal. We used the Pink, Yellow, and Blue food coloring from the Wilton Color Right Food Coloring system in the following amounts:
- Pink Rice Krispie Treat mixture = 6 drops of Pink Food Coloring
- Green Rice Krispie Treat mixture = 3 drops of Yellow Food Coloring and 1 drop of Blue Food Coloring
Making the Rice Krispie Flowers
Steps 4-5: For our Rice Krispie Flower Pops you will need two similar flower cookie cutters of different sizes. We have a bunch of these Cookie Cutter sets – it is so fun to have various sizes of the same Cookie Cutter. We made one color of the Rice Krispie Treat mixture at a time because you don’t want the mixture to cool too much while you are making the Flowers. Once the mixture had cooled enough so we could handle it without burning our fingers we started filling the cookie cutters to form the flowers. I like molding the mixture into the cookie cutters this way instead of making a sheet of Rice Krispie Treats and cutting out the flowers like a traditional cookie. You will have smoother and prettier edges this way.
Step 6: Using the smaller flower cookie cutter, make a flower cut-out in the middle of the large flower Rice Krispie Treats.
Step 7: Now switch the cut-outs.
Step 8: The Rice Krispie Treat Flower Pops are sticky from the marshmallows so you will be able to push the shapes back together.
Step 9: Add an M&M to represent the center of the flower.
Creating the Flower Pop
Step 10: Finally, finish up your Flower Pop with a Wilton Lollipop Stick. Our Rice Krispie Flower Pops are pretty and delicious. Your family will love them. They would be fun for a themed birthday party, a Mother’s Day Brunch a Summer BBQ or just as an any-day treat for your family!
