Pumpkin Spice Whipped Cream Frosting
Pumpkin Spice Whipped Cream Frosting is creamy, delicious and tastes just like Pumpkin Spice flavored Whipped Cream. Perfect for any fall cupcake or cakes.
Our Best Whipped Cream Frosting has been a not-so-surprising Two Sisters hit. It is light and airy and delicious and tastes just like Whipped Cream. But unlike regular Whipped Cream, this frosting holds its shape, lasts for days and can be used to frost both cake and cupcakes. Our Pumpkin Spice Whipped Cream Frosting is just as delicious (or maybe more delicious?) and has the added delight of the yummy fall flavor of Pumpkin Spice. You definitely will want to add this frosting recipe to your fall baking must-try list.
The key ingredient in this yummy frosting is Jell-o Pumpkin Spice Instant pudding. This seasonal pudding flavor appeared in our grocery store in September and we are super excited about all of the fun Fall/Thanksgiving ideas we have for it!
For best results, put the mixer bowl (stainless steel is the best) you will be using to make the frosting in the freezer for at least an hour prior to making the Pumpkin Spice Whipped Cream Frosting.
Once the bowl has chilled, add the whipping cream to the cold bowl. Using a mixer, whip for a few minutes until peaks form. Alternate adding in the pudding mix and the powdered sugar and continue mixing. (Watch the frosting carefully as it will set up fast. If it gets too thick add a little bit of milk (1 teaspoon at a time.)
How much frosting will you need? That always depends on how thick or thin you apply the frosting or how much decorating you do but here are a couple of guidelines. Our recipe should make enough The Pumpkin Spiced Whipped Cream Frosting to cover a 9″ x 13″ sheet cake or a two-layer 8″ cake. If you are making cupcakes, you should be able to frost 24 cupcakes if you apply the frosting with a knife. If you swirl on the frosting with a pastry bag like we have done here, you should be able to frost 15-18 cupcakes depending on the size of the swirl.
This is a great frosting – light and fresh with a super delicious pumpkin spice flavor. It would be great on any fall dessert that calls for frosting, a spice cupcake or a pumpkin sheet cake. We got a lot of compliments on this one … we hope you enjoy it as much as our family did.
