Ingredients You Will Need
How to Make the Rice Krispie Treat Mixture
Step 1: The base for our Pumpkin Rice Krispie Treats is our Best Ever Rice Krispie Treat Recipe which we have adjusted and perfected over the years until it is now absolutely the best Rice Krispie Treat recipe we have ever tasted. You can find all the directions you’ll need to make these delicious treats right here.
How to Make the Edible 3D Pumpkins
Step 2: To tint the Rice Krispie Treat mixture, add the food coloring to the melted marshmallows and butter BEFORE you add the Rice Krispie Cereal. To get this pretty Orange Color we used 4 drops of Orange Wilton Color Right Food Coloring and 1 drop of Red.
Step 3: Let the Rice Krispie mixture cool for a few minutes, until it is no longer burning hot to the touch. Measure out a handful of mixture. We used a food scale to measure 2 oz. of the mixture so all the pumpkins would be the same size.
Step 4: In the palm of your hand, mold the mixture into a pumpkin-shaped ball. If the mixture is too sticky, rub a little bit of butter on your hands.
Step 5: Use your fingers to mold a Mini Tootsie Roll into a stem and use a knife to cut out the shape of a leaf and a vine from a green Airhead.
Step 6: Create an indentation on the top of the pumpkin and press the stem into the top. When the Rice Krispie Pumpkin cools and hardens, the tootsie roll will stay in place.
Step 7: Press the Airhead leaf and vine around the top of the pumpkin. So cute!
Step 8: Allow these fun Fall or Halloween Rice Krispie Treats to cool before you store them. They will last quite a while and freeze up great. Store them in an airtight container and they will taste great for more than a week.
